Drink in views of Oslo's beautiful setting on the Oslo Fjord (or Oslofjord) on a two-hour sightseeing cruise. It's an enjoyable, relaxing way to get an overview of the city and appreciate its surrounding beauty. If you choose the 10:30am departure then you can stop off on Bygdøynes for 2.5 hours to visit the museums. You would then be picked up at 2:50pm and arrive back at City Hall at 3pm.

The Opera House of Oslo opened in April 2008 and was designed by the Norwegian Architect office “Snøhetta”, whose offices we just passed. In the first half of the 17th century, it was remodeled by King Christian IV of Norway and Denmark. He turned Akershus into a renaissance castle, which is the appearance it still has today. The outdoor areas of the fortress are open to the public, and by the fortress you can also find the Museum of Armed Forces, the Norwegian Resistance Museum, and the Royal Mausoleum. From the fortress restaurant, which was originally built as a prison in 1836, you can also enjoy a front-row view over the Oslo fjord.

2 hr 30 min - Bygdøy is a beautiful residential area, that hosts a lot of embassies as well as 6 well-renowned museums. You can also find the royal farm here and the summer palace Oscarshall. The Maritime Museum shows the importance of different maritime industries to Norwegian culture and economy. In the Fram Museum you can board the polar ship Fram, which has been the furthest north and the furthest south of any ship in the world - and learn about different polar expeditions around the year 1900. Kon-Tiki Museum, which has information about Thor Heyerdahl and his adventures. Here you can see the Kon-Tiki Raft on display Viking Ship Museum with three original Viking ships from the 9th century. Norwegian Museum of Cultural History or the Folk Museum, which shows traditional architecture from throughout the country. This is where you find the famous Gol stave church.

The sights were amazing, and the Glugg was so delicious!! It was very cold, but the blankets were lovely and warm :)

A slow leisurely excursion out to Oslo Fjords on a big boat with many others. The boat was packed. The audio guide was very sparse, highlighting maybe 10 + things along the way. Would have been nice to learn more. Also he’d to hear sometimes do you crowd chatting. The teens found it too slow and boring, and the number of people on the boat a bit surprising. Otherwise it left and returned on time. Nice that they gave us blankets to stay warm.
Weather was too cold to enjoy. It was 39 & drizzling. I’m sure it’s lovely in the summer. Captain and crew were not engaged with the guests. Felt there could have been a lot more history and facts shared. Most of the 2 hrs were spent in silence with the captain shielded from the elements behind a zipped canvas.
